The light on the power button is staying on after shut down.
Anyone have ideas why?
I think this must be a fault - the light should turn off when the Vaio is shut down of placed into Hibernate. It blinks orange in Sleep mode.
If it is green when shut down, I would contact Sony Support.

Yeah, got told by Sony to shut down, unplug from mains, remove battery, put battery back in and turn on.
It worked. Hope it works for you.
Late post but it might help others.
The Battery removal works but the problem I found caused it was that Outlook hadn't shut down properly. ....waitng for programme to close still going when when PC shut down - still there when restarted. So PC not properly shut down.
