Keys no longer repeat when held down

Hi, has anyone any suggestions for fixing this. If I hold down a key on the keyboard it no longer repeats. I have tried checking software / properties and all seems ok there.

 

If I plug in an alternative keyboard, the repeat function works fine.

    Hi vicsweet and welcome.

     

    What Vaio model do you have and which Version of Windows are you using?

     

    It could be a few things.

     

    First thing to try is to check FilterKeys is deactivated in Control Panel -> Ease of Access -> Ease of Access Center -> Make the Keyboard Easier to Use.

     

    Check Filter Keys is turned OFF.

    Thanks Blencogo. I had checked that - they are off. Oddly though, when I went to 'double check' it on seeing your reply, when I played with setting timing on repeat keys, if I tried it out in the 'test' box, keys held down do repeat. But they still don't when I'm typing anywhere else

     

    The Vaio is VPCEH1L8E and I'm using Windows 7. I've had both for some time and this problem has only just started.
