Connecting your Sony camera to a computer via USB: How to connect, transfer photos and videos, and troubleshoot

    • Make sure your camera supports USB connectivity and is compatible with your computer's operating system. Refer to your camera's instruction manual for details.
    • No additional drivers are needed. Your computer should automatically detect and install any necessary drivers.

    USB Cable Requirements
    • Use the supplied USB cable. Look for "Sony Corp." printed on it.
      USB cable with the words "Sony Corp." printed on it.
    • If the cable isn't supplied, use a commercially available USB 2.0 (or higher) cable that supports charging and data transfer.

    1. Check the USB ports and cable:

      • Clean dusty ports with a soft, dry cloth.
      • Use a different USB cable or port if necessary.
      • Avoid using USB hubs or docking stations to connect your camera and computer.
    2. Confirm the camera settings:

      • USB Connection: Mass Storage
      • USB LUN Setting: Multi (or Single if Multi doesn't work)
