    1. Make sure you are using a compatible, genuine Sony battery.
    2. Make sure the contacts on the battery and the charger are clean and free from dust or dirt.

    battery terminals
    3. Make sure the battery is inserted correctly in the charger or the camera.

Check the following items if the battery is charged inside the camera (no separate charger):
To successfully charge the battery inside the camera, please follow the steps below:
    1. Turn the camera OFF.
    2. Connect the camera to the AC Adaptor (supplied), using the supplied cable .
    3. Connect the AC Adaptor to the power mains (wall socket) or connect the USB cable from the camera to a USB port on the computer.
    4. Wait a couple of seconds.

Check the status of the LED on the camera:

    on/off button
If the LED is on, the battery is being charged. Wait until it has charged completely.
Some camera models feature two different blinking intervals.

    1. Slow blinking (approx. 1.5s): This indicates that that the battery is charged outside the recommended ambient temperature of 10 – 30°C. Charging should resume as soon as the recommended temperature is reached again.
    2. Fast blinking (approx. 0.15s): The Power/charge lamp of the camera flashes infrequently when you use a battery pack that has not been used for a long time. In such cases, remove the battery pack from the camera and re-insert it. Remove the battery pack being charged, and then insert the same battery pack into the battery charger securely again. When the CHARGE lamp flashes fast again, this may indicate a battery error or that a battery pack other than the specified type has been inserted.

If the LED is turned off, please check if charging starts when connecting the camera to a different USB port on the computer or when using a different battery (if available).
The battery pack may be damaged. If charging does not operate even with another battery, the AC-adapter/camera may be defective and you should contact the Sony service.

    4. Make sure the power cable is inserted properly into the charger when connected to the power mains
    5. Wait a couple of seconds

Check the status of the LED on the charger:
If the LED of the charger or the camera is turned on and is not blinking, this suggests that your battery or camera is charging normally.
Let the battery charge completely, until the LED turns off.
