Cameras and camcorders not charging via USB on a Windows 10 PC

    It has recently been discovered that some products may not charge properly when attached to a USB port of a computer running the Windows 10 operating system. Windows 10 is a new operating system version which released from the Microsoft Corporation on July 29, 2015.

    Issue Cause

    This issue appears to be due to a change to the USB interface specification in the Windows 10 operating system. It does not occur with computers running Windows 8 or earlier versions of the Windows operating system.

    Resolution

    Microsoft will issue a driver update through Windows Update to fix this issue. If your PC is set to update automatically with Windows Update, no additional steps are needed. However, if your PC does not install Windows Updates automatically, or if you still experience this isue, you can manually install the driver update once it becomes available.
