How to set or cancel a PIN code for your Android TV™ or Google TV™

By setting a PIN code, you can configure the parental lock settings for broadcasts.

To set Parental controls, follow these steps:

1. Open the  Settings screen. How to access the Settings 
   • If the remote control has a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the Quick Settings button and select  Settings.
   • If the remote control does not have a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the HOME button and select  Settings.
2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
   • Select System → Parental controls.
   • Select Watching TV → Parental controls.
   • Select BRAVIA Settings → Parental Controls.
3. Set your desired 4-digit PIN code.

If you forget your PIN code at any time, perform one of the following methods:

• Enter the master PIN code for your TV.
  • Note: The master PIN code is a model-specific recovery PIN used when the standard PIN for Parental lock controls or Restricted Profile mode is forgotten. Contact Sony Customer Support to confirm the master PIN code for your TV.
• Perform a factory data reset of your TV.

By setting a PIN code, you can configure the parental lock settings for broadcasts, streaming channels, and other items.

To set Parental controls, follow these steps:

To set a Restricted Profile, follow these steps:

• If this is the first time you are setting a PIN code
  1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
  2. Select  Settings.
  3. Select Device Preferences → Security & restrictions → Create restricted profile.
  4. Set your desired 4-digit PIN code.
• If you have set up a PIN code before
  1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
  2. Select  Settings.
  3. Select Device Preferences → Security & restrictions → Enter restricted profile.

Your PIN code is also required to do the following:

• Exit Restricted profile mode
• Delete information from your profile while not in Restricted Profile mode

If you forget your PIN code at any time, try the following:

• When exiting Restricted Profile mode, contact Sony Customer Support to confirm the master PIN code for your TV.
  • Note: The master PIN code is a model-specific recovery PIN used when the standard PIN for Parental lock controls or Restricted Profile mode is forgotten.
• When deleting information from your profile while not in Restricted Profile mode, perform a factory data reset.

By setting a PIN code, you can configure the parental controls or parental lock settings for broadcasts.

To set Parental controls or Parental lock (Broadcast), follow these steps:

1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
2. Select  Settings.
3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
   • Select Watching TV → Parental controls.
   • Select Watching TV → Parental controls — Parental lock (Broadcast) — PIN Code.
   • Select Watching TV → Parental lock (Broadcast) → PIN Code.
   • Select Parental lock (Broadcast) → PIN Code.
4. Set your desired 4-digit PIN code.

If you forget your PIN code at any time, enter the master PIN code for your TV.

Note: The master PIN code is a model-specific recovery PIN used when the standard PIN for Parental lock controls or Restricted Profile mode is forgotten. Contact Sony Customer Support to confirm the master PIN code for your TV.

By setting a PIN code, you can configure the parental controls or parental lock settings for streaming channels. However, this option is only available when the TV is connected to the Internet and the specific app is installed.

To set Parental controls or Parental lock (Streaming channels), follow these steps:

1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
2. Select  Settings.
3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
   • Select Watching TV → Parental controls.
   • Select Watching TV → Parental controls → Parental lock (Streaming channels).
   • Select Watching TV → Parental lock (Streaming channels).
   • Select Parental lock (Streaming channels).
4. Set your desired 4-digit PIN code.

If you forget your PIN code at any time, perform a factory data reset of your TV.

Notes:

• If you need to enter a PIN code when performing the factory data reset, enter the master PIN code for your TV. 
• If you don't remember the master PIN code, contact Sony Customer Support to confirm. 
• The master PIN code is a model-specific recovery PIN used when the standard PIN for Parental lock controls or Restricted Profile mode is forgotten.

To set a Restricted Profile, follow these steps:

• If this is the first time you are setting a PIN code
  1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
  2. Select  Settings.
  3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
     • Select Device Preferences → Security & restrictions → Create restricted profile.
     • Select Security & restrictions → Create restricted profile or Restricted profile.
  4. Set a new PIN.
  5. Re-enter the new PIN.
  6. If there is an app that you want to set as exempt, select the app and set it to Allowed.
  7. Press the BACK button to return, and select Enter restricted profile.
  　
• If you have set up a PIN code before
  1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
  2. Select  Settings.
  3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
     • Select Device Preferences → Security & restrictions → Enter restricted profile.
     • Select Security & restrictions → Enter restricted profile.
