How to troubleshoot noise issues on the F11 Series

Please follow the steps below:
  1. Check that no unintended feedback loop has been created:
    1. Right-click on the Speaker Icon in the taskbar and select Recording Devices.
    2. In the Recording tab, right-click on the Microphone entry and select Properties.
    3. In the Microphone Properties, click on the Listen tab.
    4. Ensure that Listen to this Device is not checked (see figure 1).

  2. Check that you are using the updated Audio Driver (Realtek) version 6.0.1.5992 or higher.
    You have two options to do so:
    1. Use VAIO Update to list available updates and to apply them automatically.
    2. Alternatively, you can check the driver version and update the driver manually:
      1. In the Start menu, right-click on Computer and select Manage from the context menu.
      2. In the Computer Management window, click on Device Manager.
      3. In the Device Manager list of devices, expand the Sound, Video and Game Controller section.
      4. In the Sound, Video and Game Controller section, right-click Realtek High Definition Audio and select Properties.
      5. In the Properties window, select the Driver tab and take note of the driver version listed there.
      6. If the Driver version is not equal to or higher than 6.0.1.5992, visit the VAIO Support Download Section perform the update manually.

  3. If the steps above have not solved the issue, please contact VAIO Support directly.
