My tablet cannot connect to a Movistar router

Establishing a wireless network connection to a Comtrend 5813n router provided by Movistar may fail due to Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) being disabled on this router by default. WMM is also known as Wireless Multimedia Extensions (WME) and provides Quality of Service features, prioritizing traffic as needed for best user experience.

To resolve this issue, proceed as follows:
  1. Using a computer, connect to the router's web user interface.
Note: Refer to the router's user manual for detailed steps and default passwords. You may have changed the password when setting up the router.
  2. In the menu on the left side, click Wireless, and then Advanced.
  3. Change the drop-down box for WMM to Enabled.
Note: WMM No Acknowledgment should be Disabled, WMM APSD should be Enabled.

  4. Click Save/Apply.
  5. Your tablet should now be able to connect to the router.
