My DVD recorder is stuck in UPDATE mode

Why is my DVD recorder stuck in the UPDATE mode, and what can I do?
This type of DVD recorders were updated in the past via broadcast signals. Over time, broadcast signals have evolved, and some of the new signal characteristics might trigger the updating mechanism and cause this issue.
As these devices are no longer supported due to their age, it's not possible to provide a software update to fix this.
How can I get it out of UPDATE mode?
If your DVD recorder is stuck in the UPDATE mode, try to reset your DVD recorder.
How to reset your DVD recorder
- Hold down the STOP and POWER buttons on the DVD recorder.
- This will reset all settings and power off the DVD player.
- Next, unplug the power cord from the power socket and leave it unplugged for 2 minutes.
- Plug the power cord in and power ON the DVD recorder.
- Apply the Easy Setup procedure and tune the channels (EPG Type Select).
