    Firmware update is not possible when using SLT-A99/V with VG-C99AM

    I cannot perform a firmware update for SLT-A99/V when the vertical grip VG-C99AM is attached. Does that indicate a malfunction of the camera or the grip?

    This is normal operation.

    Please, remove the VG-C99AM from the camera and insert a sufficiently charged battery directly into the battery chamber of the camera or use a dedicated AC adapter connected to the power mains.
