Issue Cause
This issue appears to be due to a change to the USB interface specification in the Windows 8.1 operating system. It does not occur with computers running Windows 8 or earlier versions of the Windows operating system.
Resolution
Microsoft has issued a driver update through Windows Update to fix this issue. If your PC is set to update automatically with Windows Update, no additional steps are needed. However, if your PC does not install Windows Updates automatically, or if you still experience this isue, you can manually install the driver update.
