To make the most out of your Sony BRAVIA TV while gaming, especially with a PS5 or other next-gen consoles, follow these steps:
Automatic Game Mode activation
When you connect your PS5 or other compatible consoles, Game Mode automatically activates, thanks to Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). This reduces input lag for more responsive gameplay. If you need to adjust brightness or contrast, press the Quick Settings button on your remote while in Game Mode.

Ensure 4K/120Hz support
To ensure ultra-smooth gameplay with high frame rates, enable 4K at 120Hz. Go to Settings → HDMI Signal Format and enable Enhanced Format on the HDMI port your console is connected to.
Enable VRR (Variable Refresh Rate)
Turn on VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) to eliminate screen tearing and maintain smooth visuals, especially in fast-paced games. Ensure your TV supports VRR via HDMI 2.1, and enable it under Settings → Display & Sound → Video Output.
Adjust HDR Settings for optimal picture
You can enhance your gaming visuals with HDR (High Dynamic Range) for deeper contrasts and more vibrant colours. Go to Settings → Picture Settings → HDR Tone Mapping to adjust HDR settings. Fine-tuning these settings will make HDR games look even better.
Monitor power with Eco Dashboard
If you're concerned about power usage during extended gaming sessions, turn on the Eco Dashboard to track energy consumption. Learn more about Eco features:
