How to clean your OLED or LCD TV
In this article, we'll show you how to clean the screen surface of your OLED/LCD TV. Note that the steps in this article may differ depending on your TV. For model-specific information, refer to your TV's Safety manual or Reference Guide.

Before you start
- Before cleaning, make sure the mains lead that is connected to the TV set is unplugged from the mains socket.
- Avoid touching the TV screen as much as possible with your hands.
- If your TV has been on for an extended period of time, avoid touching it right away, as the panel may feel hot to the touch. Wait for the panel to cool before cleaning.
- To avoid damaging the screen, do not push on the screen, scratch it with a hard object, or throw anything at it.
- Do not rest the screen against any soft plastic/vinyl surfaces, or let it come into contact with rubber/vinyl materials for an extended period of time, as these items can cause the TV to deteriorate and the paint to peel off.
- Do not use a commercially available screen protective filter, as it can affect the picture quality, airflow, and cleaning process of your TV.
- Move the TV slowly when adjusting the angle to prevent the TV set from detaching from the table stand. Be careful not to get your fingers caught between the TV set and the stand.
- Never spray a cleaning product directly on the screen. If you spray the TV screen, the cleaner may drip to the bottom of the screen or exterior parts and enter the TV set, potentially damaging the TV.
Cleaning the TV screen
Recommended items
- Three soft, dry microfiber cloths (like the kind used to clean eyeglasses or camera lenses):
- 1 dry cloth for dusting
- 1 slightly dampened cloth for smudges, fingerprints, etc.
- 1 additional dry cloth for finishing
- Distilled water
- A mild, pH-neutral detergent (e.g., mild dishwashing liquid)
Cleaning instructions
- Turn the TV off and unplug it.
Tip: If the TV was previously on for a long time, the panel may be hot. Wait for it to cool before cleaning the screen surface. - Gently wipe the screen using a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
Notes:- Avoid pressing hard on the screen — light, sweeping motions are enough.
- Carefully wipe printed TV surfaces such as CH +, CH -, or HDMI 1 with a soft dry cloth. The printed surface may become damaged if scratched by your nails.
- If more cleaning power is needed, slightly dampen a microfiber cloth with distilled water (or distilled water + 1 drop of neutral detergent). Wring it out well so it's just damp, not wet.
IMPORTANT: When using a neutral detergent, add 1 drop of the liquid to a bowl of distilled water and apply it directly to the microfiber cloth. Do not spray the solution on the TV screen. Use the dampened cloth to gently wipe down the screen. - After wiping the affected area, dry immediately with another clean microfiber cloth to remove any remaining moisture or residue from the screen.
Tips:
- You can use a slightly damp microfiber cloth to remove imperfections on the screen, such as dust, streaks, smudges, fingerprints, etc.
- It's best to avoid touching the screen as much as possible with your hands, especially if they are covered in a chemical substance such as hand cream or sunscreen. Even natural skin oils can leave behind fingerprints and streaks/smudges.
Cleaning around the TV panel
We recommend using a small duster with a handle or a dry microfiber cloth to clean the exterior parts of the TV, such as the TV frame and buttons, and narrow spaces like between the TV and tabletop stand.
Cleaning the ventilation holes on the back of the TV
Dust may stick near the ventilation holes of the TV, which may impact the airflow and cause failure and overheating. To ensure proper ventilation, we recommend you remove the dust periodically (once a month) using a vacuum cleaner.
Cleaning the TV remote control
- Prepare a solution of distilled water + 1 drop of neutral detergent in a bowl.
- Soak a soft microfiber cloth in the solution, and then wring the cloth so it's damp, not wet.
- Use the damp cloth to wipe off the dirt on the remote control.
- Using another dry microfiber cloth, lightly wipe the remote control to remove any leftover moisture.
Note: If the battery fluid leaks from the battery compartment of the remote control, wipe off the fluid before inserting new batteries.
