"No cage, no pens, no circus, no zoo. In freedom, in the wild. Captivity is a physical and mental torture for every living being. Animals like men"

Laurent Baheux is a French photographer born in 1970 in Poitiers. After years of working in the international sport domain, Laurent left the frenzy of stadiums and cities to concentrate on what he called “a monochromatic personal view of wildlife”. A firm believer that “everywhere man advances, natures goes back”, he has gradually turned his attention to locations devoid of human interference, and his work has evolved into a black & white aesthetic approach. He is the author of a dozen books and his images have been shown in galleries and festivals all over the world.
