Error message when logging on to Windows: Cannot find script file “C:\Windows\Temp\VAIO Care Rescue Tool.vbs”.

After you start your VAIO computer and log on to Windows 7, you may receive following error message.

Cannot find script file “C:\Windows\Temp\VAIO Care Rescue Tool.vbs”.

To resolve this problem, please follow one of below methods.

Important: You will need to be logged in as an administrator to complete the steps below.

Method 1: Download and run automated fix

1. Click OK on the Windows Script Host error dialog box if this last is still displayed.
2. Download the remedy file here.
3. Save the downloaded file to a directory on your computer. Please note this directory name for later reference.
4. When the download is complete, go to the directory where the file was downloaded and, extract it and run it.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2: Manually disable VAIO Care Rescue Tool task in Task Scheduler

1. Click OK on the Windows Script Host error dialog box if this last is still displayed.
2. Open a command prompt. To open a command prompt, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
3. At the command prompt, type Taskschd.msc .
4. Click OK. The Task Scheduler window appears.
5. Click on Task Scheduler Library in the left pane. Click on VAIO Care Rescue Tool.
6. Under the Actions heading on the right side of the window, click Disable.
7. Close the window.
