No TV picture / No TV picture, but sound is fine / Presence Sensor not working

Try resetting your TV, then update your TV software according to the steps listed in the following article: What are the benefits of restarting the TV and software updates?.

If you can hear sound but see no picture on your TV, follow the steps below:

1. Check if this issue is specific to the input you're on. (e.g. when you're watching TV via HDMI port 1/2/3 etc.). Change the input source or access the Home menu to see if it appears. 
   • If so, please jump to the following section: When images from a device connected to the TV are not displayed.
   • If not, continue to step 2. 
2. Disconnect all devices (such as an external USB hard disk drive and HDMI connection device) from the TV.
3. Unplug the TV power cord for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
4. Try a forced factory data reset using TV buttons (only for Android TV and Google TV). You can perform a manual reset by pressing buttons on the TV and inserting the cable, even if the TV isn't powered on or isn't responsive. 

It's possible you may have certain features enabled that can cause the TV to lose its picture (e.g. Presence Sensor, Idle TV Standby, Auto Shut-off). If, after following the steps above, the picture on your TV is retrieved, you can check the status of these settings (e.g. disable them) by following the steps listed in this article: Troubleshooting BRAVIA TV power issues.

Refer to the following FAQs:

• There's no picture on the TV when using an HDMI connection.
• There's no picture on the TV from the Audio/Video device.

A Presence Sensor reduces power consumption by automatically turning the picture off and switching the TV to standby mode when no viewer is detected. If you do not need this function, you can turn it off.

Notes:

• If the screen stays black when you approach the TV or turn it off and on, this solution does not apply.
• Google TVs and Android TVs do not have this function.
• Below is an example of how to use the remote control to disable the Presence Sensor. For specific information on how to turn off the Presence Sensor on your model TV, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. 

1. Turn off the Presence Sensor.
   1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
   2. Select Preferences.
   3. Select ECO.
   4. Select Presence Sensor.
   5. Select OFF.
