My Android TV can't connect to a Wi-Fi network after a software update (PKG6.6053)

Are you experiencing Wi-Fi connection issues with your Android TV? For instance, do you see an error message displayed, or is your TV unable to make a connection even though it can find the available access points? If yes, this may be caused by a software update to version PKG6.6053.

First, confirm whether your TV is on the list of applicable models:

If your TV is on the list, refer to the following troubleshooting steps:

The TV can’t connect to Wi-Fi for the first 15 minutes after the update

Wait 15 minutes and see if the TV can connect to the Wi-Fi network without problems.

    • If yes, the issue will not happen again.
    • If no, please continue reading.

The TV is having difficulties connecting to networks using recent Wi-Fi standards/features not supported by the TV

    1. Try to connect the TV to another network (i.e., a mobile hotspot).
    2. Check your Wi-Fi router to see if the Fast Roaming setting is enabled.
      • If yes, disable it and check if the problem to connect to the Wi-Fi network still exists.
        • Note: The Fast Roaming setting may have a different name depending on the brand of equipment used.

    For TP-Link customers

If you’re using equipment from TP-Link such as the Deco M4 and/or Deco X20, you can disable the Fast Roaming setting in the Deco app:

If the issue is still not resolved, use a wired network as a temporary solution and wait for a future software update.
