Nemanja Maraš is an artist and photographer based in Belgrade, Serbia. His practice moves between portraiture, identity, photographic intervention and image-based systems. Working primarily in black and white, he uses the portrait as a controlled space in which presence, vulnerability and the instability of identity can appear. Over the years, his work has expanded from fashion and portrait photography toward conceptual projects, artist books and material interventions. He has presented 15 solo exhibitions in Belgrade, Paris and other European cities, and continues to explore photography as a space where identity is constructed, interrupted and transformed.
