shooting under northern lights

"I love exploring what can be done with the latest camera technologies."

I’ve worked in film and television for over 30 years. My career started developing in-car cameras for motorsports and other specialist applications before moving into documentary and short film production, making programmes on natural extremes such as severe storms, volcanoes and the Northern Lights for National Geographic, the BBC and many others. Today I work across a wide range of genres, from feature films (I recently worked on Tim Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) to documentaries. I have experience with virtual production, aerial filming, stereoscopic and immersive production and am a qualified Rope Access technician, so can film from places only accessible by climbing or using ropes. I also run the website XDCAM-USER.com where I provide technical tips and advice as well as running film making workshops around the world. I love taking a camera or new piece of equipment and figuring out how to get the very best from it, how to make a small camera deliver a big camera image. Or how to make it do things beyond what it was originally designed to do.
