Notes on using Google Fast Pair with the WH-1000XM4C headphones

The WH-1000XM4C headphones support Google Fast Pair. However, the following limitations apply when using Google Fast Pair with these headphones:

    • If you change the name of the headphones on a connected Android smartphone, the new name applies only to that smartphone. The change does not apply to other smartphones.
    • You can use the Find Hub app to locate the headphones, but the app's Play sound feature is not supported.
    • To use the following Google Fast Pair features, you need to pair the headphones with the smartphone using Google Fast Pair. If you previously paired the headphones using the Sony | Sound Connect app or the smartphone's Bluetooth settings, pair them again using Google Fast Pair:
      • Easy pairing with a second or subsequent Android smartphone
        • If the additional Android smartphone uses the same Google Account as the first smartphone, you can pair the headphones from the connection notification without putting them into pairing mode.
      • Finding the headphones using the Find Hub app

Hint: What is Google Fast Pair?

When you bring an Android smartphone close to the headphones while they are in pairing mode, a notification appears on the smartphone. Tap Connect to pair the devices.
Google Fast Pair notification screen. The [Connect] button is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
